Provides a synthesis of research conducted that highlighted the important dimensions of health care accessibility from the point of view of marginalized groups in the Atlantic region.
Reflects the feedback, and suggestions, from the 244 participants who attended eleven community consultation meetings on the issues raised, and suggestions for change presented, in the research document entitled Employment Solutions. The document was a short summary of the eight recommendations to come out of research into how the provincial Income Assistance Program enables people with disabilities to train for, and find work. The present report incorporates additional recommendations of the Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities' Income Security Committee and the MLPD's Provincial Council on the changes required to improve the provincial Income Assistance Program to better support Manitobans with disabilities to prepare for, and find, meaningful employment opportunities.
