In our modern lives few of us have not been touched by cancer. We are familiar with the emotional and physical hardships in battling this disease, as well as the fatigue, illness and disfigurement that accompanies treatment, however, we often do not consider the financial toll cancer takes on a person's life. Financial costs involve not only drugs, but the cost of getting to appointments and treatments. These costs are an added burden that cancer inflicts upon those who have low incomes. This book focuses on the impact of ethnic and cultural background differences, lack of support from family or friends and lack of an adequate income on women dealing with cancer.
