The CSU provides a large number of FREE and LOW-COST services to its members. Provides these services with the dual goals of enriching your experience and facilitating your success at Capilano University.

A non-profit volunteer based society which provides parenting, youth, heritage language, and citizenship preparation programs. Operates a weekly radio program which orients listeners to Canadian life, maintains cultural heritage, and provides family life education.

Services Offered

-24 Hr. crisis access to shelter for women and their children via staff and volunteer -Outreach (in home) after leaving shelter -Teen women special cases -Accompaniment to difficult appointments -Child care worker provides support to children (one-to-one support / counselling, family groups, etc.)

Panos Canada is part of the global Panos Network: eight autonomous institutes in Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe.  The Network has a strong focus on the economically and socially disadvantaged.  

Individual Panos institutes  have programmes on children & youth, climate,  energy, environment & natural resources, food security, gender, globalisation, health, HIV-AIDS, human security, ICTs, migration, media pluralism, and pastoralism.

Works to inspire, promote and support the creation of sustainable, empowering critical educational opportunities for girls and young women. Provide programs that engage young women and communities in educational models that promote self-empowerment, self-advocacy, and new ways of being.

A strong and active partner in community building, the CRC is also West Island's gateway to information on services and support systems available to individuals and families in its territory

Abbotsford Community Services is "People Helping People". As a large social service organization, our programs encompass early childhood development, counselling and youth services, immigrant settlement and seniors services.  Every year the 300 plus staff members of Abbotsford Community Services help more than 37,000 residents in one way or another through our 70 different programs. Abbotsford Community Services is a United Way Member Agency.

A nonprofit, community based organization that assists those in conflict with the law and those at risk of being in conflict with the law, in particular, females * programs include Court Support Program, Institutional Program, Crisis and On-Going Counselling, Bail Supervision, Stoplifting Program (also known as Crime Prevention Program or anti-theft program) which has female and male groups, Anger Management Course, assistance for families left behind if the husband/father is incarcerated, Joyce Kope House a federal and provincial half-way house as well as a shelter for the homeless (see separate record), Jail Visitation, Volunteer Program, Grocery Assistance Program (GAP), Youth Justice Committee, Extra Judicial Measures, Extra Judicial Sanctions, Restorative Justice * provides all the youth work for youths age 12-17 under the Youth Criminal Justice Act throughout Simcoe County * services also include referrals to community agencies and services, speakers bureau, College and University student practicum opportunities and advocacy * a registered charitable organization
