We provide a space for all individuals who are interested in advancing gender equity.
Operates a shelter for women, with or without children, who are victims of family violence or confronted with any crisis. Offers weekly support groups for women, training and information regarding self-esteem, life skills, empowerment, custody, legal issues and family violence.
Works to further the study, prevention and reduction of disability and death from heart disease and stroke through research, education and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
(See Details)The Brenda Strafford Society for the Prevention of Domestic Violence is a second-stage shelter for women and their children who have fled domestic violence. The Centre offers a safe and secure environment. During their six-month stay at the Centre, both women and children are provided with programs and services in a supportive yet independent environment. Programs and services include: Residential Programs, Outreach Programs, Child & Youth Programs, Child Care Programs and Community Support.
(See Details)Provides safe, short-term and supportive accommodation for abused women and their children. Provides information groups for women on family violence, self-esteem and parenting. Offers one-on-one crisis intervention and a 24 hour crisis line. Provides a follow-up program for women and children setting up on their own.
Operates a 24-hour crisis line, individual and/or group counselling and children's play therapy. Offers presentations, workshops and print material on sexual violence. Provides a support Process Group, available to women who have participated in an initial 14-week group.
