DAWN-RAFH Canada Launches Survey

The DisAbled Women's Network Canada has launched the National Accessibility and Accommodation Survey (NAAS) looking at violence against women with disabilities. The survey is being distributed to transition houses across to determine

Morgentaler awarded Order of Canada

Dr. Henry Morgentaler was awarded the Order of Canada on July 1, 2008 for his decades of work to ensure women's reproductive rights in Canada . The Abortion Rights Coalition Canada (ARCC) encourages pro-choice supporters to write to the Governor General Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean to congratulate her on this decision and to counter the anti-choice feedback she is now receiving. Special report on the HPV vaccine

The US group, Judicial Watch issued the report "Examining the FDA's HPV Vaccine Records: Detailing the Approval Process, Side-Effects, Safety Concerns and Marketing Practices of a Large-Scale Public Health Experiment" on June 30, 2008. Support for the Therapeutics Initiative at UBC

The Canadian Women's Health Network (CWHN) has read the recently released report from the Pharmaceutical Task Force in British Columbia . Depo-Provera: Class Action suit

A national class action has just been certified against Pfizer regarding its sales of Depo-Provera. Depo-Provera may be subject to a considerable reduction of their bone mineral density. The bone loss observed is proportionate to the length of usage and may not be entirely reversible. Registration and more information on this class action is available on Recours Collectif’s website

International Day of Action for Women’s Health 2008: Stop conflict being waged upon women's bodies

During the 1987 WGNRR members’ meeting in Costa Rica,  28 May was declared the International Day of Action for Women's Health. 28 May has since become widely known and celebrated around the world by women’s and health groups.   Every year, WGNRR – in collaboration with members and campaign supporters - publishes a Call for Action to raise awareness and promote solidarity and action on the International Day of Action for Women’s Health.   You can access digital copies of the Calls for Action from this website.
