Ksan House Society is a grassroots agency dedicated to addressing some of the inequality issues in our community. Incorporated in 1979 as a non-profit society, sexual assault and violence against women were the driving forces to form an active organization. Strong government lobbying resulted in funding for a ten bed transition house for women fleeing abuse and a crisis line for victims of sexual assault. Our services have since been expanded to include provision of counselling through a sexual assault centre and more recently a women's counsellor to augment the services of the transition house. The women's programs are based on the knowledge of power imbalances in our society that lead to women and children being exposed to abuse or violence; of the impact and dynamics of abuse or violence; and the perpetrators are responsible for their actions. In all programs we seek to empower the people that utilize our services to enable them to make positive choices in their lives. The 24 hour Crisis Line Number: (250)635-6447
